Just got this! YBF Skincare

Hello Blogarristas! Sorry I've been out for a while, this past couple of weeks were very busy since it was my midterms at school. For those of you who are starting to view this blog, my name is Joanne & I'm a MBA student majoring in Marketing. What this means that I have to juggle time perfectly so I can do everything.

Today I am writing this quickly since just got out of a class, to tell show you what I got in the mail today!!!

These products are from YBF Skincare, anti aging line that I recently discovered. I have high hopes for this line, mainly because I suffer from very dry lips, just starting to have small lines on my eyes, huge pores, acne prone, oily/combination skin. Yep, have a bunch of problems, and I am always looking for new products to try. So I'll be reviewing these soon, so stay tuned... =)

For rainy, humid days, BV recommends applying John Frieda Collection Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Original Formula to hair, for oily hair, avoid roots.

Chicken Skin?

     All my life I've battle with body acne, trying the best products, hiding the arms, and trying to be the less noticeable possible. I went to Sephora last month, and not aware of my problem, I talk to the skin consultant about my "little acne pumps" in my arms. To my surprise, one of my most problematic areas -my arms- did not have acne. Those little red bumps on the backs of your arms—they're not pimples. They're a genetic condition called keratosis pilaris, which half of the population has. There's no cure, but they are easy to treat. Twice a day, slather on a moisturizer with lactic acid or urea, which will dissolve the thickened skin.

     I was recommended KP Duty by Dermadoctor. This is basically a very heavy, almost harsh scrub, only intended for problem areas of chicken skin in your body. Do not use on face! As described on Sephora.com is "a dermatologist body scrub with chemical and physical medi-exfoliation." KP Duty body scrub delivers serious medi-exfoliation for deeper, more thorough results. This dual-action chemical and physical exfoliator blends the best of a chemical peel and microdermabrasion into a single, easy-to-use treatment. Smooth, non-abrasive, synthetic beads lift away dead skin cells. 

     It also "helps prepare skin for self tanning and post-bathing treatments (including body acne, keratosis pilaris (chicken skin bumps), shaving bumps, ingrown hairs, and bleaching) and is infused with green tea and willow bark to reduce irritation and redness typically associated with routine in-office exfoliation." It really lives up to its word! KP Duty leaves my skin so smooth and noticeably lighter, removes all the rough skin and I'm left with baby-like smooth skin. Before using this product, ask a professional or Sephora consultant to see if this product is right for you. 

Personal Shopper Nailpolish by OPI for Sephora

This is my choice of nail polish for today. It is so hard for me to paint my nails in such colors, I get it all over the place. I got it with my Nailpolish with Sephora's Beauty Insider points, and it came with to others. A tip a got from one of TiffanyD's tutorials, buff your nails prior to painting them, it really lasts longer! Add a topcoat as needed.

Mac's Fix Plus, My Miracle Worker

In Mac's website is described as "an aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. Adds radiance, finishes makeup. Spray it on. Skin drinks it up!" This mineral infused spritz can be used as a medium for pigments, for your hair, for almost anything. It's so soothing, and refreshing, it is used to blend makeup (when it looks powdery/chalky) and make it look natural & healthy. I love it! 

I treated myself today!

Hey dolls! After being sick the last couple of days, I had to buy something to cheer me up ;). I went to a couple of makeup stores, because I wanted something glittery and girly. As I entered the Mac store, I saw the new Collections, but wasn't as excited when I saw them in person. Maybe I'll go back and check them when I am a little more relaxed, it was 7:00 pm, and my class started at 8:00 pm so I needed to hurry! Went straight to Sephora, and as I surfed the store like a pro, finished ending up at front of the Urban Decay section, and with my an utterly dismay ( I couldn't buy the Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows! =''((, I tried, & tried, and never found it when it launched ) I found comfort in this cutesy little shadow box! I swiped that card like their was no tomorrow, and headed to look for my grandma which I left at Macys sightseeing, and rushed to the car. Gladly I went to my class and came back home. Hope you guys are ok and I will post swatches of this little baby soon!

My Mac's Lipstick Collection + Swatches!

Welcome to Joanne's Lipstick Heaven! This is my current Mac Lipstick Collection (My beloved and best Lady Gaga Lipstick isn't there, and maybe other one I got on my handbag, but that's pretty much it!) These are different finishes, from Amplified, Lustre, Satin, Creme Sheen & Matte. I have always been a lipglass and soft pinks kind of girl. I've been afraid of color for some time, and I've been slowly getting comfortable with darker & dramatic shades. Sometimes getting out of our comfort zone helps us discover different parts of ourselves. My Mac's darkest shades are the first two lipsticks (swatches) shown on these pictures. The first one is Show Orchid, a vivid hot pink, an amplified finish lipstick from the new Riveting Collection, is a great color that can be worn by its own, look playful with a cute cat eye, or go all drama with a dark smoky eye! For the next one I have been searching for sometime. It's really hard to find the perfect shade of red. A beautiful red is really on the eye of the beholder, but, from my point of view, THIS IS IT. It's daring, it's sexy, & it's chic. 

The next  color is Creme Cup, it is described as a "light blue pink" but, as you can see, in my skin, it looks more like a warm pink, perfect for everyday wear. Next is Snob, I first heard from this color by Nickel of "What Style is to Nickel" on YT, and, when I went to my Mac Store, literally it was the color that popped out at me when I saw all the colors. Described as a "ladylike mauve," it is a truly blue pale pink, great for faired skin, and its great for other skin tones, but it all depends on your style. It can look very sophisticated, or casual, its all about how you combine your makeup. Next, my go-to color for dark smoky eyes, Myth; its a gorgeous nude color that virtually erases my lips and let's my eyes take center stage. This is as hard to get as a great red lipstick, it all depends on your skin tone. Speed Dial, is another great color that can be used with a purple smoky (this was the one used in my Stacked1! MU Tutorial) or with a simple everyday makeup look. If you can see the pattern, I love soft pastel pinks and I can't get enough of them! My last Swatch is Shy Girl, a creamy neutral coral beige, universally flattering, this color is great for now till autumn. Hope you enjoyed my post! Joanne in Mac's Lillyland

As I was wondering through the sections of the Mac Store at the Mall, I stumbled upon the Lillyland display and wasn't sure to get it at all. I bought a gazillion lipglosses (lustreglass, ect.) on christmas, similar in colors, but then again, I like trying things for the fun of it, so, with my Mac makeup remover wipe on one hand, and a little curiosity, decided to give them a try. Let me tell you, I am so impressed! While similar in color, the formulas (the glitter, feel, ect.) was completely different from the ones I had. They seem to be so thick, true to color, and so fun! They match my Coach Poppy bag as you can see he he, and the light and brightness they give to your lips, they seem to work as a fruity kiss magnet. For all it's worth, they go perfectly with  flowery spring (with a glittery kick!) The colors displayed from left to right are: Shift to Pink, Lush to Bright & MoonStone. I will put swatches soon, hope you go and give them a try!   =)
