Urban Decay Book of Shadows Now $29!

Hello girls, good news. The Urban Decay Book of Shadows 4, which launched late 2011 has been deeply discounted. At first glance, I wasn't too attracted to this product, mainly because of: its steep $64.00 price-tag & the fact that I have Urban Decay products that would last me a lifetime. BUT, after removing my ban on makeup purchases which I self implemented as I was in the process of moving to NYC's tight living lifestyle, decided to reward myself by purchasing this makeup palette. For my amusement, it was reduced to $44 (Now $29), which given the amount of product -including full size products- that it possessed, the makeup hoarder in me decided to BUY BUY BUY!
So here's the breakdown:
  • 16 full Size Eyeshadows (0.03 oz. each)
  • 1 Liquid Eyeliner (0.058 fl. oz.)
  • 1 Deluxe Sample Original Primer Potion (0.13 fl. oz.)
  • 1 Supercurl Mascara (0.18 fl. oz.)
  • Includes a mini-speaker (for your phone, ipod, ect)
  • + QR codes with tutorials for different looks made with the products contained in the palette.
You don't need to be a mathematician to know the amount of value contained in this Urban Decay Palette. Below is a makeup look I created using the products.
The deep teal/aqua eyeliner in the lower lashline is a UD cream eyeshadow!
In a Gist: If you are a Urban Decay virgin, love value or want to stack up on quality products that are included, this is a great way to start. Although I have to acknowledge that this is not the best palette UD has done, comparing it with others, this is certainly not a product to ignore. Plus, with promo code "SEVENTEEN11" you can have this amazing palette for just $29!!! You can purchase UD's Book of Shadows 4 at Urbandecay.com.

Swatches: They are all in order of palette placement.

Silent Treatment- A Wet n Wild Product Review + Photos and Swatches

Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in "Silent Treatment"
Info:
  • Price: $2.99
  • Amount of product: 0.12 oz or 3.5 g
  • Wn'W website's take on the product: High-pigmentation and pearl-density create a unique, satiny texture that lasts and lasts. A versatile collection of classic and trend shades can be easily worn alone or playfully combined for a variety of looks.
Hues:

  • Pale Pink with a satin frost finish -Browbone-
  • Deep Brown with Silver Glitter  -Crease-
  • Taupe Shimmer -Eyelid-

    My Take:

These eyeshadows are as advertised, highly pigmented, great quality eyeshadow trios that can give other more expensive brands a run for their money. They feel rich, soft & easily blendable. You really have to be careful with the brown one, extremely pigmented & you may experience fall-out. This is the palette for the neutral lovers, very natural classic colors that go great with every outfit.

    Tip:
Whether using high-end or drugstore eyeshadows, I always advice to invest in an eyeshadow primer. Why? It enhances the richness of the eyeshadow, helps your gorgeous work of art remain creaseless, and it makes your eyeshadows last all day.

Milani Lip Flash Product Review & Swatches

Hello girls! Today I give you the ultimate creamy lipstick pencil, yes you heard right, these are super creamy, full stay on power lip pencils. The quality of the pencils is amazing: great pigmentation, creamy, and the glitter in these is not chunky at all. No bad smell, they can easily be sharpened with a chunky sharpener (did not notice Milani offering sharpeners for this product).
From left to right (the first one not counting): Flashy, Hot Flash, Flash Light, In a Flash.
These reminded me of the Tarte Lipsurgence Lip tints but at a quarter of the price -$24.99 for one tarte or $6.99 for a Milani-, they have there differences though. The Milani does have glitter and glide smoother than the Tarte ones, but the Tarte ones do last longer, and have a minty feel. I personally recommend these as stocking stuffers, a great buy! Had trouble finding these, as I live in Puerto Rico. Walgreens does not carry them here, only CVS. But I do know you can find them on Cherry Culture online. Hope you find this review helpful.

    Happy Holidays Everyone!

    BV-
