For the sake of a kiss

     Many of us suffer from the agony of having dry, chopped lips. Although they are tons of ways to treat and hydrate our lips, here are a few tips to get them kiss approved in no time!  

     Lips are very vulnerable to the sun's damage as much as the rest of your face. It is very important to Tip 1# use balms or lip conditioners with SPF to provide protection to this sensitive area. It is extremely important to keep them moisturized.

What most people don't know is that chopped cracked lips are a sign of dehydration. Tip #2 drink lots of water! Not only will the health of your lips improve, but your skin will thank you.

Tip #3 refrain from licking your lips. Although we may find this sexy, use this tactic only on special occasions! Licking your lips has the same damage as over-washing your hands. In other words, don't lick your lips dry (let that to your lover).

Tip #4 use a toothbrush with sugar and honey to scrub away the dead skin of your lips. They will look and smell ah-mazing!

Tip #5 avoid using products which contain petrolatum, which are products extracted from oil, used to protect car batteries, certainly NOT SEXY!

Hello Blogarristas! Sorry I've been out for a while, this past couple of weeks were very busy since it was my midterms at school. For those of you who are starting to view this blog, my name is Joanne & I'm a MBA student majoring in Marketing. What this means that I have to juggle time perfectly so I can do everything.

Today I am writing this quickly since just got out of a class, to tell show you what I got in the mail today!!!

These products are from YBF Skincare, anti aging line that I recently discovered. I have high hopes for this line, mainly because I suffer from very dry lips, just starting to have small lines on my eyes, huge pores, acne prone, oily/combination skin. Yep, have a bunch of problems, and I am always looking for new products to try. So I'll be reviewing these soon, so stay tuned... =)

I treated myself today!

Hey dolls! After being sick the last couple of days, I had to buy something to cheer me up ;). I went to a couple of makeup stores, because I wanted something glittery and girly. As I entered the Mac store, I saw the new Collections, but wasn't as excited when I saw them in person. Maybe I'll go back and check them when I am a little more relaxed, it was 7:00 pm, and my class started at 8:00 pm so I needed to hurry! Went straight to Sephora, and as I surfed the store like a pro, finished ending up at front of the Urban Decay section, and with my an utterly dismay ( I couldn't buy the Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows! =''((, I tried, & tried, and never found it when it launched ) I found comfort in this cutesy little shadow box! I swiped that card like their was no tomorrow, and headed to look for my grandma which I left at Macys sightseeing, and rushed to the car. Gladly I went to my class and came back home. Hope you guys are ok and I will post swatches of this little baby soon!

My Current Everyday Look

Hey dolls! This is a picture taken in the Titanic Exhibition they had here in PR, and that's my grandma beside me =). I posted this picture because is the most current for one, and has my latest makeup regimen. If you click in the pic you may see it larger.

My Foundation:
I use Revlon's Photo Ready Foundation in Shell & mix it with Mac's Tinted Moisturizer in Medium
Finish it with a Translucent Powder, I used Mac's Blotting Powder in Light Medium.

Eyes:
I do the eyes with the same products and techniques as my 5 minute everyday MU tutorial, but I add a little pencil eyeliner -Urban Decays 24/7 in Zero- around my eyes, and in my waterlines. If you have small eyes, line your lower rims with a white or beige pencil.

Cheeks:
I used Mac's Love Thing Mineralize Blush, I make sure I contour my face prior to applying my blush.

Lips:
Mac's Lady Gaga Lipstick & a pale pink lipliner!

My Mac's Lipstick Collection + Swatches!

Welcome to Joanne's Lipstick Heaven! This is my current Mac Lipstick Collection (My beloved and best Lady Gaga Lipstick isn't there, and maybe other one I got on my handbag, but that's pretty much it!) These are different finishes, from Amplified, Lustre, Satin, Creme Sheen & Matte. I have always been a lipglass and soft pinks kind of girl. I've been afraid of color for some time, and I've been slowly getting comfortable with darker & dramatic shades. Sometimes getting out of our comfort zone helps us discover different parts of ourselves. My Mac's darkest shades are the first two lipsticks (swatches) shown on these pictures. The first one is Show Orchid, a vivid hot pink, an amplified finish lipstick from the new Riveting Collection, is a great color that can be worn by its own, look playful with a cute cat eye, or go all drama with a dark smoky eye! For the next one I have been searching for sometime. It's really hard to find the perfect shade of red. A beautiful red is really on the eye of the beholder, but, from my point of view, THIS IS IT. It's daring, it's sexy, & it's chic. 

The next  color is Creme Cup, it is described as a "light blue pink" but, as you can see, in my skin, it looks more like a warm pink, perfect for everyday wear. Next is Snob, I first heard from this color by Nickel of "What Style is to Nickel" on YT, and, when I went to my Mac Store, literally it was the color that popped out at me when I saw all the colors. Described as a "ladylike mauve," it is a truly blue pale pink, great for faired skin, and its great for other skin tones, but it all depends on your style. It can look very sophisticated, or casual, its all about how you combine your makeup. Next, my go-to color for dark smoky eyes, Myth; its a gorgeous nude color that virtually erases my lips and let's my eyes take center stage. This is as hard to get as a great red lipstick, it all depends on your skin tone. Speed Dial, is another great color that can be used with a purple smoky (this was the one used in my Stacked1! MU Tutorial) or with a simple everyday makeup look. If you can see the pattern, I love soft pastel pinks and I can't get enough of them! My last Swatch is Shy Girl, a creamy neutral coral beige, universally flattering, this color is great for now till autumn. Hope you enjoyed my post!
